T.L. Waggoner Elementary School

Dear Wrangler Parents,

I welcome you to T.L. Waggoner Elementary School.  We are the home of the Wranglers! I am excited to start our 2022-23 school year. Online, on the phone, or in person, I am looking forward to meeting you and getting to know you and your family as you join ours.  By working together in partnership, your child will have a productive year as we learn and grow together. We here at Waggoner have a family of outstanding teachers, caring and supporting staff, and have a safe and fun learning environment for your child.  As our partners, we need you to instill in your child the value of education as we prepare for the best year yet.  Getting your child to school on time, every day, and ready to learn builds the valued routine that your child will come to know and love. I also strongly encourage you to read to and with your child, regardless of their age, as this is one of the best ways to foster a love of reading while building skills.  Twenty minutes of reading to and with your child each day equals one hundred and twenty two hours of reading skills practice in one year!  How amazing is that!

T.L. Waggoner is your school.  I want you to feel that you are welcome and are an integral part of this social learning community.  Everyone; including teachers, parents, secretaries, administrators, instructional assistants, supervision staff, custodians, cafeteria assistants, district support staff and of course the students are continually learning and growing, working together to enrich the learning environment and develop social skills.  We know that learning together and from one another is one of the most powerful ways to learn and it also builds relationships and community.

Get involved! Time invested in your child at home and at school pays off in huge dividends.  The more you participate, the more you and your child will benefit from school. I strongly encourage you to join the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), School Site Council and contact your teacher to see how to volunteer to help out with class activities and projects.  

We have some additions to our staff for the 2022-23 school year.  New teachers to Waggoner this year are Mr. Jacob Felix who will be teaching RSP, Mr. Hector Wong who will be in 5th grade and Mrs. Marisela Ruiz who will be teaching our SDC class.  We are excited to have them on board.
